» FAQ
FAQ What is VoIP and how does it work? A: Most simply, Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) is telephones that work through the internet rather than wires. Packets of voice data are sent through a broadband connection to the internet, just like an email or website, allowing NikkitaSolutions to offer rates that are far less expensive than traditional phone services. Q: Do I have to buy an IP Phone, Gateway or Phone diallers to make my calls? A: No, you can use one of many free “soft” phones on our website. Visit our product page and download a choice of your soft diallers. Q: What is a SIP Phone? A: SIP stands for Session Internet Protocol. It is a very common standard for setting up calls between devices. NikkitaSolution’s uses SIP IP phones. Q: Can I use any IP Phone that I want? A: In short, yes, our service can be used with any IP phone provided it’s a SIP protocol.. But, we do suggest certain phone that we have tested and found to be the highest quality. Q: What is broadband? A: Broadband is typically considered anything faster than a dial-up modem connection. Examples would be: DSL, Cable modem, ISDN, T1. Q: What is NAT? A: NAT stands for Network Address Translation. This is a form of firewall that makes opening channels to phones inside it difficult. NikkitaSolutions has developed means to make this a non-issue with our service. NikkitaSolutions service will work seamlessly whether you are behind a firewall or not. Q: How good is the voice quality on your service? A: With our suggested equipment, we have as good, if not better, voice quality then any phone company out there. Q: Can I use this service with a Satellite Internet connection? A: In general, we do not recommend the use of our system over a Satellite (SAT) Internet connection. However, some customers do. There are a few technical issues related to SAT links that can cause problems: -- Round Trip Time (RTT) Delay. Most SAT's used for Internet connections are geosynchronous. This means that their orbit period is the same as the length of a day, so they are stationary in relationship to a given point on the ground. To achieve such an orbit, the SAT must be 22,235 miles (35,784 km) above the earth's surface. Radio waves travel at the speed of light, but even the speed of light takes a noticeable amount of time to travel that distance 4 times (up and back twice for a complete round trip from your UA to our servers.) This delay, when added to other factors on the ground, can cause delays anywhere from 500 ms to 1000 ms (1/2 second to 1 second.) It can be very difficult to carry on a conversation when there is that much delay. -- Network Jitter. Probably more important than RTT Delay itself is the consistency (or lack of) of the RTT Delay. Some packets take longer than others to reach their destination, which can cause voice data to arrive out of order and possibly be dropped. We have found that many SAT Internet connections have this failing. Many UA's have adaptive Jitter Buffers, which can absorb some small inconsistencies in RTT delay, but given large inconsistencies, the result is often an almost unusable connection. -- Lack of uplink bandwidth. Typically SAT Internet connections are asymmetrical with their download bandwidth being much higher than their upload bandwidth. If your uplink bandwidth is lower than the bandwidth required by the vocal codec, then you will not be able to use the connection for voice calls reliably. Q: Can I surf the Internet while I'm talking? A: Yes Q: Can I receive calls using your service? A: Yes Q: Will I be charged for call forwarding? A: Yes. Each forwarded calls to a standard phone will be charged NikkitaSolutions credit at normal rates. Please, ensure to have enough credit in your account for you to use the call forwarding. Q: Can I call personal numbers? A: Yes! We specialise only on outbound local and International calls only and 24 x7 FREE calls to all registered users within the network. Q: Can I fax over your service? A: It depends. In most other cases, you cannot fax over our Phone service from Phone-to-Phone. IP to IP and Users to Users free faxing is possible. Q: What to do when I experience connection problems? A: Please, kindly make sure you have properly configured your equipment or SIP dialler properly. And be sure to have an Internet connection working perfectly fine. Calls will not go through without an Internet access connected. Q: Am having a busy signal or engage tone? A: When you dial a phone number, you get a busy signal. This usually means that the number you are calling is busy or that you have dialled a number that the NikkitaSolution’s network cannot process. Q: The receiver can hear me but I cannot hear them? A: When you dial a telephone number, you hear no audio or you are getting one way audio (e.g. no ring back tone, no busy tone, "number not valid" message, etc.). This usually means that the device audio ports (TCP and UDP) are being blocked by a firewall on your network or on a corporate or service provider network that is between your network and the Internet. Email: support@nikkitasolutions.net for assistance: Q: How long are my PIN and User ID valid for and can I reuse my PIN? A: By default, your User ID is your account number and will not expire, if you are Nikkita Solutions Premium customer. For minimal user, the User ID and PIN number is valid for 120 days and can be extended as long as your account remains active. Q: How do I properly dial phone numbers to make calls? Depending on the network you subscribe to. Business Network 01: follow the instruction below. A: 1Make sure you enter phone numbers as follows:
Prefix 011 + Country code + Area code + Destination number i.e. 01144XXXXXXXXXX and press call or ok, depend on the equipment used Standard Network 02: follow the instructions below. A: 2 Make sure you enter phone numbers as follows:
So, the proper way to dial the number specified above, is simply: 441234567890. This works the same for any type of dialler or phone you use Simply dial: Country code + Area code + Destination number i.e. 44XXXXXXX and press call or ok depend on the equipment used. Q: How long does it take before I receive my account details after making the first payment? A: Your account will be credit as soon as we receive your payment. Q: How much does it cost? A: You can sign up for $5, $10, $30 $50 and $100 accounts. Q: If I run out of credit, will my call be disconnected? A: Yes! You will hear a sound from the system your account balance cannot call this destination. Your call will be automatically disconnected when your balance reaches zero. To prevent this, please make sure you have enough credit before you place a call |
